My mom picked me up from school the day before Thanksgiving, and we immediately got on the road and headed for Oregon. We stopped in Tri-Cities and met David and he parked his car in the airport there. From there we all rode in the same car and didn’t stop until Hood River, Oregon. After a quick stop to get beverages we continued to Dundee. We got in the house and got to sleep at around 11:00 that night.
We woke up and called grandma telling her to come over this morning and she arrived on time. Soon after Aunt Tami, Uncle TJ, Liam, and Sean showed up on Thanksgiving Day. Grandma put the turkey in the oven and we waited until meal time. That afternoon was crazy, everybody was making something to eat for the dinner. David made rice pudding, Aunt Tami made pumpkin pie, my mom made the mashed potatoes, and Grandma made the turkey and gravy. The meal was magnificent and my favorite part was dessert. David made the best rice pudding that I have ever had.
The next day we went on a morning walk and hunted for geocaches. I thought that all of the orchards were very neat in the crisp fall air. Later we went Black Friday shopping and that is how we spent that day.
The day after that me, my mom, David, and grandma decided to go to the Evergreen air and space museum and the Imax movie theater. After that they went to the various vineyards to taste wine and cheese.
The day after that, David, my mom, and I went on a 4-mile run before we got in the car and made the long drive home. We left at around 1:00 in the afternoon and separated from David when we got back to the Tri-Cities. We got home at about 8:00 that night. I was glad to be home again and I went to bed instantly. It felt amazing to be sleeping in my bed.
