Kayaking at Wolf Lodge Bay near/on Lake Coeur d’Alene

After having driven around the entire backside of Coeur d’Alene Lake looking for a campsite and finding nothing available, I really lucked out by getting this spot at the overflow parking lot at Camp Coeur d’Alene. I was even luckier, because the campground has since converted this sweet campspot into a dog park. I’m so fortunate to have camped here before that happened.

Kayaking up the creek directly from this campground is wonderful. We spent a few hours kayaking up to Wolf Lodge Campground then back, having to lift our kayaks over just a couple of low spots. We also kayaked the other direction towards the lake, where we had a picnic at Higgins Point and explored Blue Creek Bay.

Best overflow parking lot I’ve ever seen
Higgins Point
Great places to explore in a kayak
Blue Creek Bay – no idea what this sign is all about
Exploring on the way to Blue Creek Bay
Hugging the lakeshore
Heading back from the lake
All in all, a most awesome place to kayak
